GRANT INFORMATION and APPLICATION
APPLY for a Grant of $150-$1,500 for your Visual and Performing Arts Programs
The non-profit organization, Friends of East County Arts, Inc., annually funds grants to support the visual and performing arts (VAPA) in the San Diego East County schools.

MISSION STATEMENT: The purpose of this organization shall be to provide funds for the growth and development of audiences for live performing arts, to present world-class artists, and to support the fine arts and artists in the greater East San Diego County area.
INFORMATION

All grant applications will be done online this year to simplify the process and avoid any misplaced applications. No paper applications will be accepted.

Grant applications are evaluated by the FECA 2025-2026 Grant Committee. The final decisions are based on 1) how the proposed grant benefits the most students within the East County boundaries, 2) how the grant supports the visual and performing arts program, instruction, and/or development, and 3) how the grant contributes to the vitality of the community and targeted audiences.

Individual grants range from $150 to $1,500. Schools/organizations may apply for more than one grant. A separate application must be filled out for each grant.

Grant funding will not be awarded for general administrative or operating expenses, maintenance repairs, or salaries.

All grant funds must be used during the school year for which it was awarded.

Past grants funded by FECA include art supplies for classroom projects, school-wide art shows, royalties for play productions, sheet music, instrumental music supplies, musical instruments, transportation for student field trips to a VAPA performance, or museum, and for student awards and scholarships.

FECA must receive your digital application and project summary no later than 5:00 p.m. September 30, 2025, so be sure to submit online early.

TIMELINE

Applications will be delivered by email to schools and organizations no later than August 30, 2025.

The Application Deadline is September 30, 2025.

The FECA Grant Committee will meet no later than October 9, 2025.

Grant recipients will be notified by November 13, 2025.

Grant checks will be delivered to winning applicants at their school sites within 3 weeks of award notification.

Winning applicants must be present and sign for their checks.

Grant checks must be deposited by school districts within 60 days or FECA may stop payment on the check.

If a Grant check is lost, the $35.00 replacement fee will be subtracted from the new grant check.
