FRIENDS OF EAST COUNTY ARTS, INC. (FECA)  2023-24  
GRANT INFORMATION and APPLICATION

APPLY for a Grant of $150-$1,500 for your Visual and Performing Arts Programs

The non-profit organization, Friends of East County Arts, Inc. annually funds grants to support the visual and performing arts in East County schools.

MISSION STATEMENT:  The purpose of this organization shall be to provide funds for the growth and development of audiences for live performing arts, to present world-class artists, and to support the fine arts and artists in the greater East San Diego County area.  

 

Information

  1. Grant applications are evaluated by the FECA Grant Committee. The final decisions are based on 1) how the proposed Grant benefits the most students within the East County boundaries, 2) how the grant supports visual and performing arts education or development, and 3) how the grant contributes to the vitality of the community and targeted audience.

  2. Individual grants often range from $150 to $1,500. Schools may apply for more than one grant.

  3. Funds will NOT  be awarded for general administrative or operating expenses, maintenance repairs, or salaries.

  4. All grant funds must be used during the 2023-2024 school year for which it is awarded.

  5. Some of the past grants FECA has funded include art supplies for classroom projects, school-wide art shows, awards for Grossmont Union High School Art contest, royalties for play productions, student scholarships, band equipment, bus transportation costs for students to go see a play or visit a museum, artists in the classroom grants, choral music supplies, costumes, plays brought into schools, drums, rhythm band instruments, and piano instruction programs.

FECA MUST RECEIVE YOUR APPLICATION BY OCTOBER 27, 2023.

                  

TIMELINE

  • Applications will be delivered or mailed to school sites by September 30, 2023.

  • The Application Deadline is October 27th, 2023. Be sure to mail early.

  • The FECA Grant Committee will meet no later than November 8, 2023. Grant recipients will be notified by November 17, 2023.

  • Grant checks will be delivered to winning applicants at their school sites by December 4, 2023.

  • Winning applicants must be present and sign for their checks.

  • Grant Checks MUST be deposited by the school district by December 29, 2023, or FECA will stop payment on the check.

  • If a Grant check is lost, the $35.00 bank fee will be subtracted from the new grant check.

Grants awarded to schools will be delivered to school offices.
Winning applications must be present and sign for the check.
Checks will be made out to the school/ organization listed on the application.


If you are selected to receive a FECA grant, you will be expected to provide examples, presentations to FECA, or tickets for performances funded through the FECA grant.
