Outstanding VAPA Teacher Awards

Please note: The honoree must be present at the FECA General Meeting on April 25, 2024 in order to receive the Award.  Site administrators and nominators are highly encouraged to attend and support each winner. 

Nomination Process 

  1. An individual school may nominate more than one VAPA teacher.

  2. Complete the application form (pages 3-4) and submit it by email to

  3. Applications must be received no later than 5:00 PM on February 23, 2024.

  4. Each application form must be completed in its entirety or the nominee will not be considered for recognition.

  5. Finalists will be notified by March 1, 2024.

  6. All finalists will then schedule one (1) in-class visitation by the selection committee.

  7. Finalists are expected to prepare demonstrations containing both active teaching and student participation within their lessons.

  8. Visitations will take place between March 11-15, 2024.

  9. The four (4) Honorees will be notified by email no later than April 2, 2024.

  10. Honorees MUST be present at the FECA General Meeting on April 25, 2024, in order to receive their $1,500 awards.  It is highly recommended that a site administrator and the nominator be present as well to join in the celebration.
